Kenneth Beer

President
Institution / Organization: The Fishery Inc.
Term:

Ken Beer, a University of Washington alumnus, has been an influential figure in aquaculture since 1975. He began with managing a catfish farm near Sacramento and subsequently secured permits to spawn diverse species, notably wild white sturgeon, thereby laying the foundation for his farm “The Fishery.” Ken’s dedication resulted in The Fishery's expansion across five locations in California, with their offerings including sturgeon, catfish, largemouth bass, and hybrid carp - served both fresh and processed.

Ken has actively shaped California’s aquaculture policy through leadership roles in influential organizations like the California Aquaculture Association. Since 2010, he has promoted fishing and aquaculture at several organizations. Ken remains an integral part of WRAC's Industry Advisory Committee and continues to inspire many in the industry. Away from work, Ken finds joy in outdoor activities, spending time with his family, and basketball.
